She then retracted her hand, and looked back at Harrold....
"Do you know how to open this Harrold?"
Hesitating, "No, mam, no."
They both left, leaving Ring alone. You see, they both knew how to open the gate. But none dared to show the other that they knew. Independently, they feared each other, if Harrold showed her, what he knew, he would get in trouble. If the old lady showed Harrold what she knew, then Harrold, the subordinate would get the idea that professionalism, is not needed within this community. Interesting how that worked out.
At that moment, Ring smashed through the gate knocking it into the pool. The boy, being deprived of all logical thought, continued to swim underwater with the gate wrapped around his neck or kneck. Very nice......
